The Association of the former members of the Staff of Parliament was formally inaugurated on the Second day of August 2003 at the auditorium of the Library Services and Documentation Board at No 25, Independence Avenue Colombo 07.

The association was ceremonially launched on the Fifteenth day of August 2003,under the patronage of the Hon. Speaker of Parliament ,Joseph Michael Perera M.P. The meeting was attended by the Leader of the opposition Hon.Mahinda Rajapaksha M.P. and Hon AHM Azwer, Chief Government Whip, deputising the Hon Prime Minister.
